Spiritual & Religious Curriculums
Within the West Oakland church of Christ we strive to be purpose driven in our service and evangelism. Our goal is to continually reach spiritual heights through increased Christian challenges and serious biblical study. Through this particular section of our website, we make available to the world, some of our in-house curriculums and workshops that have been used to foster spiritual growth and opportunities for challenge. God-willing, future curriculums and workshops will be added for your viewing and study.
Biblical
Analysis of Sanctification: Through the Other
Seventy Training Academy, Dr. Ammar Saheli, Carlos Jackson, Rodney
Stovall Sr., Michael Grisby, Jamon Lawrence, and Dennis McCrae, completed
a calibrated study process and experience through total collaboration. Over
the course of several months, the brothers of the academy came together for
the purpose of studying, sharing, and publishing the Word of God together.
In a synthesized group dynamic, individual study on the topic commenced through
a strategic step-by-step methodology. Notes were compiled and combined at
the conclusion of each night of study. Once the conceptual study concluded,
each sentence of the article was constructed cooperatively. The finished product
is the article, Biblical Analysis of Sanctification. The next potential
subject of study is Blood.
Leadership Dynamics: The information contained in this series of workshops was inspired by John Maxwell and his in-depth knowledge of leadership necessities. This information was designed and presented to a group of men by Dr. Saheli after his first year of being the new minister (2002) of the the West Oakland Congregation. Without a firm grasp of the concepts studied, true success cannot commence. Enjoy!
The Kings of Israel & Judah: This document explores the details and psychological dynamics that existed between the kings of Israel and Judah. It is a curriculum that is designed to foster enhanced Christian growth and increased biblical study through the process of personal applications. Through this biblical journey you must find yourself in the text. There is something for every occasion within this study and it even has a section that focuses on congregational transition issues. This is a well research document with many instructional aides.
Two-Part New Convert Curriculum: The first part of this New Convert course explores in detail the six first principles explained in Hebrews 6:1-2. The impetus for such basic biblical training begins in Hebrews 5:12 and climaxes with Hebrews 6:1-3. Many Christians refer to the concept of first principles without knowing they are biblically categorized. The author refutes the notion of a first principle being whatever a Christian or student of the Bible believes to be milk. The concept of laying on of hands is connected to the Holy Spirit and Holy Spirit baptism, but how often is it referred to as milk. Many would consider it deep (meat), but the Hebrew writer mentions it as one of six first principles. The second part of the course addresses Love, Prayer, Giving, Communion, and Salvation. Questions follow each section.
Family Matters: Family Matters is a series of synthesized essays that biblically address the need and attributes healthy Christian families. The Christian man, woman, husband, wife, father, mother, son, daughter, marriage, and complete family are all addressed separately. Healthy families are central to the establishment of healthy church of Christ congregations. In a time when family values, parental roles, and marital roles are in a state of emergency, this compilation of lectures on the family may prove useful for struggling families, Christians seeking marriage, children struggling with obedience, and those perplexed by what appears to be a time of spiritual decline in the church.
The Covenant Love of God & the True Worshippers: This four-part workshop series explains in scriptural detail the covenant relationship between God and the Christian. The literature presented within this workshop series will help an individual struggling with denominationalism discover the importance of obedience through following the one faith system of God's Covenant Laws. Historical Old Testament covenants are explored and finally conclude with the Christian New Testament Covenant purchased and initiated by the perfect blood of Christ. The true biblical practices of New Testament worship are presented and manmade practices are clearly exposed. The crucial concepts of the blood of Christ and His doctrine are also discussed.
Food For the Soul's of Women: The literary scholarship presented in this six-part workshop series should be considered exciting for those who love challenging studies that spark Christian growth. This series is specifically designed to provide edification, training, correction, encouragement, and knowledge to Christian women. The material was researched and written by a husband and wife team, both of which who grew up in Christian homes and observed the dynamics of men and women in the church of Christ. Their silence is broken. From a biblical perspective, wanted and unwanted female Christian attributes are revealed and put forth candidly. The Content Women, The Contentious Woman, & She Must Be Qualified, Dignified, & Certified are just a few of the topics.
The four lessons below were designed
by Bro. Dorris Pitts, an evangelist who has been preaching the Gospel of Christ
for over 50 years. The four lessons in this series are designed to equip Christians
with the tools and abilities needed to teach simplistic, yet profound Bible
classes that can lead lost souls to Christ. They answer the most critical
question any Bible student could ever generate: "What must I do to be
saved?" The lessons were developed and prepared to accomplish and fulfill
a strategic and calculated purpose. The lessons probe the mind of the student
while asking critical questions pertaining to God's Kingdom and the Gospel
of Christ. Bro. Dorris Pitts has taught and baptized hundreds of people into
Christ, using the evangelistic formulas contained within these four lessons.
Enjoy and use these effective methodologies
for your own personal growth and the benefit of God's Kingdom.
