My Enemy, My Footstool
Acts
2:32-36
“This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all
are witnesses. 33Therefore being by the right hand of God
exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he
hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. 34For David is not
ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord,
Sit thou on my right hand, 35Until I make thy
foes thy footstool. 36Therefore let all
the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye
have crucified, both Lord and Christ” (Acts 2:32-36).
With
reference to Christ, Prophet Isaiah said regarding Jesus, “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not
his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her
shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8He was taken from
prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut
off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he
stricken. 9And he made his grave with the wicked, and
with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any
deceit in his mouth” (Isaiah 53:7-9).
The innocent Christ was rejected, accused, beaten,
abused, spit upon, slandered, and nailed to a cross because He loved everyone
and dedicated His life so men and women could be redeemed. In the process and
as prophesied hundreds of years prior, God promised to make the enemies of
Christ His footstool. Christians must remember the biblical principle in the
face of persecution for the cause of
Christ. Through Christian faith, the baptized believer must remain confident in
knowing that vengeance belongs to the Lord.
As the child of God continues to live a life for
the Master, the supremacy of Eloah will create the condition for the one who
persecutes to become the persecuted. Just know that God has the ability to
transform the enemy into a footstool. Do not give up and refrain from taking
matters into your own hands. The victory is truly sweet when God works on
His terms, absent human interruption. Let Jesus carry you through earthly
and eternal Glory. Remember, You are the clay In The Potter’s Hands. God has paved a way
to save you today!
