The Family

12:51-53
From a biblical King James Version perspective the primary
word used to indicate family in scripture is house. The family or house is the most pivotal and central institution
on earth, second only to the church. However, the design of God is that
evangelism first be promoted through the family. In line with scripture, every
biological mother and father should also be the gospel parents of every son and
daughter in the church. Mothers and fathers are to be the key figures regarding
family evangelism and baptism.
When the examples within the house/family miss the supreme
mark and expectations of Christ, the windows and doors are left unchecked
and the evil element is able to run its course. “But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom
divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against
a house falleth. 18If Satan also be
divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that
I cast out devils through Beelzebub” (Luke 11:17-18). Division within the house/family creates extreme vulnerability,
leaving the self and the offspring highly susceptible to the seductive and
covert wiles of the devil.
The family attack of the devil is so strong Jesus Christ simply
exclaimed its fate and ill potential at the expense of evil, sin, and disobedience.
He said, “Suppose ye that I
am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided,
three against two, and two against three. 53The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against
the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the
mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in
law against her mother in law” (Luke 12:51-53).
The reason for the division is disobedience, pride,
and lust. It is critically important for Christians to maintain a sold spiritual
influence over their children because the devil has a destructive goal of
dismantling families. If Satan can weaken the family he can weaken church
members, and weakened church members make the goal of heaven more difficult
to ascertain for all Christians. Protect your family and remember, You are
