Working In The Word
Titus 1:1-3
“But we will not boast of things without our measure, but
according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a
measure to reach even unto you. 14For we stretch not
ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are
come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ: 15Not
boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours; but
having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you
according to our rule abundantly…” (2 Corinthians 10:13-15).
“Paul, a
servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's
elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; 2In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised
before the world began; 3But hath in due times
manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to
the commandment of God our Saviour…” (Titus 1:1-3).
In analyzing the words of Paul in the above two
passages, it becomes apparent that physical massage is to the Body what the
preached word of God is to the spirit and soul. Someone said, “Gentle massage
affects the nervous system through nerve endings in the skin, stimulating the
release of endorphins, the body's natural 'feel good' chemicals, to help induce
relaxation and a sense of well-being, to relieve pain and reduce levels of
stress chemicals such as cortisol and noradrenalin. It helps reverse the
damaging effects of stress by slowing heart rate, respiration and metabolism
and lowering raised blood pressure” (www.ivillage.co.uk/health/comp/therapy/articles).
In considering the same concepts in terms of the Word of God, through the providence of God, allow the preacher to work in the preached word. Remain In The Potter’s Hands. God has paved a way to save you today!
