Striving for Heaven in 2007
Sunday AM

The relationship between heaven and earth must be known/understood/obeyed, before heaven itself can be accessed and enjoyed.

Thematic Scriptural Text: “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11)

“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.” (Colossians 1:16-20)

Thematically, Striving for Heaven in 2007 illustrates an image of urgency, because it excludes past time factors, limiting exigency to the present moment. Because we fail to own, dictate, or mandate time, what remains before us is our existing condition. Thus, if change is to occur, it would behoove us to revolutionize rapidly. Some questions to press and guide our thinking through this journey of biblical exploration and hopeful persuasion are:

·        What is the Kingdom of Heaven?

·        What was happening in heaven before creation?

·        What is the relationship between the Kingdom of Heaven and earth?

·        What is the relationship between Colonialism and Christianity?

What evidence do we have of heavenly activity pre-Christ? What was at work and in operation? How does it apply to us today? According to Job 38:4-7, God was in complete communion with himself before the creation. It is also apparent that from a heavenly perspective, God remains worshipped and praised day and night.

(Job 38:4-7) “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. 5Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? 6Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;7When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”

And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.” (Revelation 4:4)

And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, 10The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” (Revelation 4:9-11)

What/where is Heaven? It is a place above where God and His heavenly host dwells.

·        Stephen saw Christ in the sky on the right hand of God. (Acts 7:55-56)

·        The spirit of Christ ascended up at the death burial and post resurrection. (Ephesians 4:8-10)

·        The Bible instructs us to set affections on things above & not below. (Colossians 3:2)

·        The watched Him ascend up (Acts 1:9-11)

·        At the end of the world, the Lord will descend from heaven and His church will meet Him in the air. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

Putting the power and heavenly location of God in perspective, consider the following information. The distances to the stars are so great, a new unit of distance measurement (the light year) had to be created. The light year is not a unit of time; it is the distance light travels in a year, or about 6 trillion miles. The nearest star is some 4.2 (over 24 trillion miles) light years away. In a jetliner, at 550 miles (900 km) an hour, distance is covered 10 times as fast as in a car. By airplane, the United States is 5-1/2 hours wide, and it takes two days to go around the world. The Moon is three weeks away, Venus over 5 years, the Sun 20 years. Pluto, the outermost planet, is still 750 years away. The nearest star is still so far away as to be unimaginable: 52 million years.

At 18,000 miles (29,000 km) an hour, the Space Shuttle crosses the Unites States in 10 minutes and circles the Earth in an hour and a half. In 13 hours it covers the distance to the Moon, but even so would take two months to cover the distance to Venus and seven months to cover the distance to the Sun. Pluto is still over two years away. The nearest star is still 160,000 years away.

Light, at 186,300 miles (298,000 km) per second, could circle the Earth seven times in one second and reach the Moon in 1-1/2 seconds. The Sun is about 8-1/2 minutes away at the speed of light. It takes light about 5-1/2 hours to reach Pluto from the Sun, but 4.3 years to reach the next star.

“I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” (Revelation 22:16)

Sunday School Caveat
The relationship between heaven and earth must be known/understood/obeyed, before heaven
itself can be accessed and enjoyed.

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.” (Acts 2:22-24)

In Acts 2:23, the Word informs us that by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, Christ was delivered into the world. When studying the concept it becomes clear that the process consists of the reality that God does not exist in time, He transcends time. Jesus Christ was delivered out of timelessness or eternity, into time memorial. Pivotally, God does not exist in time, but in space. God is not bund by time, but because He is omni-present, His domain is space. Not outer-space, like the cosmos, although He exists there as well, but in what we know as space general. There is no space where we cannot find the presence of God.

Our terrestrial dilemma then becomes an abuse of our God-like character. We have been created in His image and after His likeness. Therefore, we have been given freedom, intellect, ability to intuit, subdue, and power through dominion. Those elements make the human, not just the Christian, possess certain elementary qualities of God. Thus, we begin to act out of recklessness, due to an abuse of God-like qualities, like God, we attempt to exist in space, forgetting that our existence is not celestial, but terrestrial, specifically predicated on time.  When such a physiological, psychological, and spiritual condition is ignored or rationalized, spiritual urgency in terms of salvation and a seeking of heaven is impaired.

·        God’s Sequential Sanctified Earthly Colony Mediums (From general to exclusive):

1.      Adam & Eve: (For all the earth). After the sin of Adam and Eve, the earthly colonial process of God, worked through exclusive sanctification of a person extended to peoples.

2.      Noah (He walked with God): Genesis 6:18; 9:9-11 (Saved through water & ark)

3.      Abraham: Genesis 22:17-18 (Covenant Promise)

4.      Moses & exclusive Israel: Deuteronomy 5:1-6

·        It is the concept of a colony (falling into conformation with the wishes, customs, culture,  of the king/kingdom).

·        The Kingdom of heaven became extended to earth with the principles of heaven to be carried out in earthly form and harmony.

In terms of the colonia, God said “and let them have dominion over” the fish, sea, birds, cattle, all the earth, and insects. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them” (Genesis 1:27). Colonialism is the extension of a nation's sovereignty over territory beyond its borders by the establishment of either settler colonies or administrative dependencies in which indigenous populations are directly ruled or displaced. Colonizing nations generally dominate the resources, labor, and markets of the colonial territory, and may also impose socio-cultural, religious and linguistic structures on the conquered population (see also cultural imperialism). Though the word colonialism is often used interchangeably with imperialism, the latter is sometimes used more broadly as it covers control exercised informally (via influence) as well as formal military control or economic leverage.

The term colonialism may also be used to refer to a set of beliefs used to legitimize or promote this system. Colonialism was often based on the ethnocentric belief that the morals and values of the colonizer were superior to those of the colonized; some observers link such beliefs to racism and pseudo-scientific theories dating to the 17th and 18th centuries.

(Luke 2:11-14) “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

(Luke 11:1-2) And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. 2And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.”

Genesis 2:18-25—Through harmony, God creates a wife for Adam, and in collaboration with God he names her. Adam worked in collaboration with God in naming the animal creation. Before the craftiness of Lucifer, Adam, Eve, and God were in absolute unison. They were even un-phased by their nakedness.  All the body image discussions today, indicate how far removed we are from God.

·        The extension of heaven to earth was perfectly evidenced through Adam and Eve, before their sin. Earth was an extension of heaven for the terrestrial.

Tuesday
The relationship between heaven and earth must be known/understood/obeyed, before heaven itself can be accessed and enjoyed.

·        The extension of heaven to earth was perfectly evidenced through Adam and Eve, before their sin. Earth was an extension of heaven for the terrestrial.

Genesis 1 Notes:
God said let us make man (Father, Son, & Holy Spirit). And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them” (Genesis 1:26-27). How do those elements exist within man/woman today, and why did God say “let us make” only in the creation of humanity? Why did He not say let us make the heavens and earth?

In essence, the schema trilogy of humans is based upon the-let-us-make-man factors. God spoke inclusively of the Son and Holy Spirit. Therefore, the three elements of God are contained also within the spiritual genetics of humanity. How are they represented:

·        God: The intellect and free-will of man

·        Son: The human element wrapped in obedience

·        Holy Spirit: The battery and guiding presence within man that connected with God initially, and now to the Holy Spirit

·        It is the concept of a colony (falling into conformation with the wishes, customs, culture, customs, of the king/kingdom).

Genesis 2 Notes:
In essence, the schema trilogy of humans is based upon the-let-us-make-man factors. God spoke inclusively of the Son and Holy Spirit. Therefore, the three elements of God are contained also within the spiritual genetics of humanity. How are they represented:

The planted Garden/Metropolis equipped with decision making power (Genesis 2:8-9, 15). He was given intellect, freedom, and law. Genesis 2:23-25, Adam and Eve were in the garden totally and freely connected to God in terms of obedience. They were made in the image and after the likeness of God, therefore their imparted God-breathed spirit perfectly guided them. This was now a heavenly extension earthly, a perfect dwelling place on earth, with man and woman having power to control. God above and man below, a situation of harmony, heaven colonized to earth.

“And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil” “ 15And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it” (Genesis 2:8-9, 15).

And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 25And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed” (Genesis 2:23-25).

·        (Exodus 16:8) And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.

·        (Numbers 16:3-4) “And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD? 4And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face...”
