Grace 66
In
every book of the Bible, we can observe the wonderful grace of God. How good
it is to know that the God of the universe is a God of Grace. Take a journey
through the 66 books of the Bible, witnessing and experiencing God’s grace.
This was a wonderful opportunity and joy to put together
- When God looked around
and said, “…It is not good for man to be alone; I will make a help meet for
him” His grace was in operation (Genesis 2:18).
- When God parted the
waters of the Red Sea for rebellious and disenchanted Israel, His grace was in
operation (Exodus 14:21-22).
- (Leviticus
16:21) “And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat,
and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all
their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the
goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness.”
When God created a scapegoat for Israel His grace was in operation.
- As
Moses grew tired of the complaints in Israel, he consulted with God.
(Numbers 11:16-17a) “And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather up unto me
seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the
people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the
congregation, that they may stand with the. And I will come down and talk with
the there…” When God meets with His children, His grace is in operation.
- (Deuteronomy 31:7)
“And Moses called unto Joshua and said unto him in the sight of all
Israel, Be strong and of good courage: for thou must go with this people unto
the land which the Lord hath sworn unto their fathers to give them...” When
God selected Joshua as their new leader, His grace was in operation.
- When Israel marched
around the walls of Jericho, God making them crumble, obtaining their first
victory in Canaan; His grace was in operation (Joshua 6:20).
- When Samson broke out
of his Philistine shackles and killed 1000 men with the Jawbone of an ass, His
grace was in operation (Judges 15:14-15).
- When Ruth was united in
marriage with Boaz, God’s grace was in operation (Ruth 4).
- When a young
Shepard-boy named David slew a giant named Goliath and cut of his head, God’s
grace was in operation (1 Samuel 17:49-51).
- When God forgave David
of his murder and affair, His grace was in operation. 2 Samuel 12:13 And
David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto
David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
- When Elisha was
selected by Elijah, God's grace was in operation. 1 Kings 19:19 So he
departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with
twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by
him, and cast his mantle upon him.
- When Josiah, king of
restoration was anointed, God's grace was in operation. 2 Kings 22:1
Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty
and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jedidah, the daughter of
Adaiah of Boscath. 2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the
LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to
the right hand or to the left.
- When God allowed David
to pray to Him, His grace was in operation. 1 Chronicles 29:10 Wherefore
David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be
thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.
- When God appeared to
David's son Solomon after he completed the temple building, His grace was in
operation. 2 Chronicles 7:12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night,
and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to
myself for an house of sacrifice.
- When God gave Ezra the
courage to put away strange women from the camp of Israel, His grace was in
operation. Ezra 10:3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God
to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the
counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God;
and let it be done according to the law.
- When the rebuilding of
the walls and gates of Jerusalem was funded by a pagan king, God's grace was
in operation. Nehemiah 2:7 Moreover I said unto the king, If it please
the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they
may convey me over till I come into Judah; 8 And a letter unto Asaph the
keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the
gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the
city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me,
according to the good hand of my God upon me.
- When a man named
Mordecai, a lowly Israelite living under oppression, became second in command
to the king, God's grace was in operation. Esther 10:3 For Mordecai the
Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of
the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking
peace to all his seed.
- When God blessed Job
with more wealth than he had in the beginning, His grace was in operation. Job
42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his
friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
- Psalms 23:1 "The
LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want" because God's grace is in operation.
- Proverbs 3:34
Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
- Because of God's grace
we are able to keep His commandments. Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the
conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this
is the whole duty of man.
- Song of Songs 2:1
"I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys" because His grace
is in operation.
- We
were and are healed through His stripes because his grace is in operation.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised
for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his
stripes we are healed.
- When God sanctified
Jeremiah in the womb of his mother, His grace was in operation. Jeremiah 1:5
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest
forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto
the nations.
- Jeremiah lamented
toward God over Israel's condition, seeking God's grace. Lamentations 1:1 How doth the
city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she
that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she
become tributary!
- When God called
Ezekiel, it was because of His grace. Ezekiel 2:1 And he said unto me,
Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.
- When God rescued David
from the treacherous lions den, His grace was in operation. Daniel 6:23b
"...So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was
found upon him, because he believed in his God."
- When Hosea pleaded with
Israel to turn to God, His grace was in operation. Hosea 14:2 Take with
you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and
receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
- When God promised to
pour out His Holy Spirit, His grace was in operation. Joel 2:28 And it shall come to
pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons
and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young
men shall see visions:
- When God promised to restore fallen
Israel, His grace was in operation. Amos 9:14 And I will bring again the
captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and
inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they
shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
- When God promised
deliverance upon Mount Zion, His grace was in operation. Obadiah 1:17
But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness;
and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
- When God released Jonah
from his three-day consequential stay in the belly of a fish, His grace was in
operation. Jonah 2:10 And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited
out Jonah upon the dry land.
- When God proclaimed
that His House would be established in the top of the hill, His grace was in
operation. Micah 4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the
mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the
mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto
it.
- The
Lord is slow to anger because His grace is in operation. Nahum 1:3 The
LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the
wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the
clouds are the dust of his feet.
- When the Lord responded
to the prayer of Habakkuk, His grace was in operation. Habakkuk 2:1 I will
stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he
will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
- When God promised to
relinquish the captivity of Israel, His grace was in operation. Zephaniah 3:20
At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you:
for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I
turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.
- When God promised to
give peace to a house greater than the former house, His grace was in
operation. Haggai 1:9 Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little;
and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts.
Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
- When God promised rain
in the midst of the latter rain, His grace was in operation. Zechariah 10:1
Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD
shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in
the field.
- When God promised to
open the floodgates of blessings upon Israel, His grace was in operation.
Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may
be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if
I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that
there shall not be room enough to receive it.
- When Jesus was born of
a virgin into the world, God's grace was in operation. Matthew 1:18 Now
the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was
espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the
Holy Ghost.
- When John prepared the
way for Christ, the grace of God was in operation. Mark 1:2 As it is
written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which
shall prepare thy way before thee.
- When Jesus healed ten
lepers, His grace was in operation. Luke 17:14 And when he saw them, he
said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass,
that, as they went, they were cleansed.
- When Jesus forgave the
adulterous woman, His grace was in operation. John 8:11 She said, No
man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no
more.
- When Peter said on the
day of Pentecost, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the
Holy Ghost" God's grace was in operation (Acts 2:38).
- According to Romans
4:1-4, when God released Israel from their marriage with Old Testament Law,
His grace was in high operation.
- When Paul said,
"Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let
every woman have her own husband" (1 Corinthians 7:2) God's grace was in
operation.
- Paul said in 2 Corinthians 2:14, "Now thanks
be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest
the savour of his knowledge by us in every place" because God's grace is in
operation.
- It
was by God's grace that Paul was taught by Christ and not by man. Galatians
1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of
me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I
taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
- According to Ephesians
2:14, it is by God's grace that he broke down the middle wall of partition.
- According to
Philippians 3:10, it is by God's grace that we may know Him and the power of
His resurrection.
- According to Colossians
1:11, by God's grace we are "Strengthened with all might, according to his
glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness..."
- It
is by God's grace that He warned us that Christ is coming back like a thief in
the night. 1 Thessalonians 5:2
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a
thief in the night.
- 2
Thessalonians 3:18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Amen.
- It
is by God's grace that Christ was, "manifest in the flesh, justified in the
Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world,
received up into glory" (1 Timothy 3:16).
- It
is by God's grace that every now and again the Word of God stirs us up as it
did Timothy. 2 Timothy 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir
up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
- It
was by God's grace that Titus was left in Crete to ordain elders in every city
appointed (Titus 1:5).
- It
was by God's grace that Paul taught and baptized Onesimus, and then sent him
back to Philemon, a man he owed some money. Yet he was not sent back as a
slave he was sent back as a brother in Christ because of the grace of God.
Philemon 1:17 If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as
myself. 18 If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on
mine account.
- It is by God's grace that we are
compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1).
- It
is by God's grace that we can look into the perfect law of liberty (James
1:25).
- It
was by God's grace that Noah and his family were saved by water and Christians
are saved today. 1 Peter 3:21 "The like figure whereunto even baptism
doth also now save us..."
- By
God's grace we are saved from worldly corruption. 2 Peter 1:4 Whereby
are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye
might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is
in the world through lust.
- 1
John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This is because of His
grace.
- Because of God's grace
he warned the church about false doctrines. 2 John 10 "If there come any
unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house,
neither bid him God speed..."
- Because of God's grace
we can walk in truth. 3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that
my children walk in truth.
- Because of God's grace
we can keep ourselves in the love of God. Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in
the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal
life.
- Lastly, because of
God's grace, the names of His children are written in the book of life.
Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that
defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they
which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
