2009 Short Term Goals
Currently
growth of the church of Christ in the United States is declining. Rationales
for such occurrences are varied. Dr. Saheli believes a level of it is attributed
to failed leadership articulation of multi-year visions for congregations,
creating a lack of congregational membership connection. Potentially, members
who are aware of the short and long-term plans of a congregation may stick
with ministry and congregational commitment longer because they are aware
of the direction and where they may fit today and in the future. Because of
that, leadership of the West Oakland church of Christ wants all members to
be aware of our short-term and long-term goals and plans to be completed within
the next twenty years. Some elements will be completed sooner than later (God-willing),
but they all constitute the prayerful direction of the congregation. The goals
